John has been working in and teaching Watercolor since the late 1970s. His career as an Artist/Illustrator began in the early ’60s when he was assigned to the Air Force Air Ground Operations School in Fort Walton Beach. FL. Upon his discharge from the Air Force John was hired as an illustrator by the Air Force Armament Lab at Eglin FAB. Johns training as a watercolorist began in the early ’70s when He attended the John Pike School of Watercolor in Woodstock, N.Y. John spent three summers in Woodstock. He studied with Edgar Whitney in the ’80s and has applied the skills learned from both for many years.
